In 2014, NCCN entered into a three-year collaboration with LACOG (Latin American Cooperative Oncology Group) to update and develop the NCCN Guidelines® for Prostate Cancer Latin American Edition annually. In 2016, NCCN faculty plans to meet with a multidisciplinary group of physicians from LACOG to accomplish the third update of the NCCN Guidelines for Prostate Cancer Latin American Edition. Attendees will consider regional adaptations of the NCCN Guidelines for Prostate Cancer, which are necessary for effective utilization of the NCCN Guidelines in Latin America. LACOG representatives will include physicians from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, and Peru. Moreover, the 2016 Versions of the Latin America Editions of the NCCN Guidelines for Prostate Cancer will be available by the end of 2016.

NCCN began collaborating with LACOG in 2010, resulting in the 2011 publication of NCCN Guidelines for Breast Cancer and Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer Latin American Editions, which were translated into Portuguese and Spanish. LACOG is a non-profit organization founded in 2008 by a group of Latin American medical oncologists interested in the development of academic clinical research. LACOG is the first multinational cooperative group in Latin America exclusively dedicated to clinical and translational research in cancer.

The Adaptations of the NCCN Guidelines are developed by the host country's oncology thought leaders in conjunction with NCCN Guidelines Panel Members. Modified NCCN Guidelines are developed to aid clinicians in determining appropriate and effective avenues of care in the specified country.
